Since its inception in 2002 by Prof Mousa Khorsheed, the Annual Kuwait Post Graduate Assembly in Surgery has been at the forefront of local surgical education and development, bringing surgeons from various sub-specialities together, with the aim of improving practice and patient care.
Initially conceived with the purpose of providing the practising surgeons with the latest updates in the field, it has grown exponentially over the years to being the largest local multidisciplinary surgical event for those with an interest in surgery, with various international experts converging for a couple of days of information exchange, networking, providing channels for continuing education and research promotion.
Annually, the AKUPAS committee has strived to reaffirm the basics of good practice, deliver a wealth of practical advice, introduce new techniques at the forefront of surgical science and to provide the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of surgical diseases.
AKUPAS represents an international community where world-leading faculty can create a forum with participants from around the world to share ideas and challenge the core principles of good surgical practice.
